Is it just me... or does it seem less safe to park in the massive, empty, not well-trafficked DCUSA garage than it does to park on the streets of Columbia Heights?

spud lite, it is probably safer from the most common car break in, the opportunistic kind in which a wandering crackhead sees your car and decides on the spot that it's a good prospect for a smash-and-grab.

likewise, it is safer from that other common on-street menace, the douche who hits your car and doesn't leave a note.

nonetheless you're right to assume that it's likely not entirely safe.

ps -- garage parking in the Dupont area costs around 250 or higher... so by those standards this is a bargain.
