Irving Street For Sale Surprise

The Heights Life checked out some of the local real estate this weekend (not that we can afford it - we're just curious).

Along Irving Street we discovered a simple looking tall red row house with a "for sale" sign. We looked it up, curious about prices in a down market and well... we did not discover a simple row house at all. Not.At.All.

We don't know what to say. We're still processing this. But take a look at the house. Like it? Hate it? Ever been in it? We are infinitely curious what people think of this place.

I know the guy who designed, built and lived in that place. It's awesome. I've been there a number of times. It obviously will appeal to a certain select audience only (being a 4-level home with only 3 "bedrooms" for a 1.5 megabucks) but it's truly unique and cool.

I can't believe he'd put so much into it and then leave it! That place is fascinating.

It's certainly... interesting. The kitchen seemed a bit narrow to me, and the contrasts were weird. The random mantle on the first floor? The exposed beams throughout seemed a bit incongruous.

It will appeal to only a small audience, Jamie's right. I did like the back of the house, though.

It's interesting--that much I can the pictures. I'd need to see it in person to form an opinion though. Also, it might look dated quickly.

Though I typically think spaces like this are nice, this one managed overkill. It seems like it is more designed for MTV's Real World and not so much for the real world.

Should look nice when its finished (sarcasm)...

Looks like Architechtural Digest threw up on it.

Agree that for $1.5mil, I'd want it to be finished... you know, systems enclosed and whatnot.
